About Your Guides
Rick Moscarello
License #2469
Rick started fishing at the age of five, trailing behind his two older brothers, fishing all over the state of New Jersey. As the years passed, he realized his passion and fished for everything from sunfish to tarpon, from Eastern Canada to the Florida Keys. About thirty years ago, Rick discovered the challenge of fly fishing for trout and salmon, and became an accomplished fly-tyer and caster. During that time, he traveled and fished many of the streams and rivers from Eastern Canada to his home state of New Jersey, and became familiar with the specific habits of the salmonoid species, within each of those streams, by spending countless hours of trial and error on stream and at the tying desk, perfecting the techniques and fly patterns he uses today. After years of inviting friends and family to share the aspects of fly fishing with him, Rick realized he liked to teach, almost, as much as he liked to fish. And so, after receiving his guide's license in New York and Pennsylvania in 1993, he founded the company, River City Outfitters. "Rick is a very friendly, patient, and knowledgeable instructor with a positive attitude who truly enjoys sharing the his passion, for fishing with others".
Holly Moscarello
License #2942
Holly has always enjoyed the outdoors, although she has not fished all of her life. She started at the age of four when she fished with her Fisher Price yellow plastic pole on Lake Adirondack in New York state catching sunfish, and then didn't fish much at all until she met her husband, Rick, . A few months after they met, Rick took Holly to a small stream in New Jersey and showed her the basics of fly fishing. She was immediately "hooked" (excuse the pun). Holly traveled throughout the states of New York, Pennsylvania, Vermont and New Jersey with Rick, seeking out every stream and river that held trout or salmon, learning the casting and flies to use for each situation as she encountered them. In torrential rain at the Salmon River in New York she caught her first king salmon in the fall of 1992 and has been fishing for them since then. With determination and a great attitude, she obtained her New York guide's license in 1996 and now guides both men and women during the season. Holly's best moments are helping someone land their very first salmon or steelhead and shares in the excitement of these magnificent fish with each of her clients.
